About Old Harmony
The Harmony Company was a major American manufacturer of stringed musical instruments, particularly guitars, ukuleles, and banjos, founded in 1892 by Wilhelm (William) J.F. Schultz in Chicago. It became the largest producer of musical instruments in the US for much of the 20th century, supplying Sears, Roebuck & Co. and producing under various brands like Airline and Stella. Operations ceased in 1975, with the brand later revived by Westheimer Corp. in 2009.
