Worldcoin is a blockchain-based protocol that provides a privacy-preserving human identity and financial network using biometric iris scans via the Orb device to create World ID, a proof-of-personhood system. It issues WLD tokens on Ethereum Layer 2 for global economic access, payments, and incentives, alongside the World App wallet supporting USDC and mini-apps.
