Job description
Epic is looking for a Senior 3D Artist specializing in character clothing for GTA 5 RAGE:MP. Responsibilities include creating custom clothing items and optimizing assets for game performance.
Responsibilities
• Create custom clothing items, accessories, and textures for GTA 5 characters (male/female models).
• Rigging and skinning models for correct deformation in the game.
• Convert models from various formats to .ydd (Drawable) and package textures in .ytd.
• Work with plugins and tools for asset export (Sollumz / GIMS Evo).
• Optimize geometry and textures to reduce client load (LODs, MipMaps).
• Form ready DLC packs (.rpf) and integrate them into the client part of the RAGE:MP server.
• Work with mapping and setting up clothing components (shoes, torsos, outerwear, accessories) in the GTA V file structure.
Requirements
• Proficient in Blender (mandatory) or 3ds Max with Sollumz / GIMS Evo plugins.
• Understanding of GTA V file structure and specifics of working with RAGE:MP (client_packages folder, dlcpacks, and DLC loading order).
• Experience with OpenIV (viewing, extracting, and creating .rpf archives) and CodeWalker (converting .ydd/.yft).
• Ability to work with textures: knowledge of DDS compression (BC1/BC3/BC7), creating proper UV maps.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or Substance Painter for creating PBR textures and manual drawing (if necessary).
• Experience with Durty Cloth Tool (a plus, as it significantly speeds up assembly for RageMP).
