Job description
We're hiring an Engineering Manager to lead a team within Simple Trade, part of the Consumer Product Group. Simple Trade owns Coinbase's core retail trading experience — and we're at an exciting inflection point, expanding from crypto into equities. You'll build and lead an engineering team shipping cross-asset trading systems, unified account infrastructure, and new regulatory integrations — greenfield work on top of Coinbase's scale.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team.
- Own the technical roadmap for cross-asset trading systems.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, and senior leadership.
- Coach and develop direct reports.
- Drive engineering excellence and make architectural decisions.
- Be a hands-on technical leader when needed.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering.
- 2+ years of engineering management experience.
- Experience with distributed systems at web scale.
- Strong technical judgment and strategic thinking.
- Proven ability to partner cross-functionally.
- Experience with multi-tenanted, distributed systems.
Conditions
- Annual base salary range: $218,025 - $256,500 USD.
- Total compensation may include equity and bonus eligibility.
