Job description
About Plasma Plasma is building money that just works. Plasma One is our flagship product: a stablecoin neobank where people send and receive money in seconds globally, earn yield every day, and spend with a Visa card in over 150+ countries. Now live in private beta with 100,000+ people on the waitlist. Under the hood sits the Plasma network, a blockchain we designed from first principles for stablecoin payments. Stablecoins will reshape global finance. We’re building the full stack that gets them there, from the underlying infrastructure to the app in your pocket. Team Culture At Plasma, you join a team that is rewriting how the world interacts with money. We hire people who are relentless about their craft and expect that same standard from everyone around them. This is where you will do the hardest and most meaningful work of your career. We work with trust, clarity, and ambition. Everyone owns their craft, moves with urgency, and contributes beyond their lane. We back each other, we debate hard, and we hold a high bar for what great looks like. Plasma is built for people who thrive on challenge and want to leave a mark.
Responsibilities
### What you will do - Own end-to-end KYC onboarding: Manage the full customer verification lifecycle for Plasma One, from initial document collection through identity verification, risk assessment, and final approval or rejection. - Conduct enhanced Due Diligence where required. - Operate SumSub and blockchain analytics tooling: Configure and manage verification flows, review auto-decision outputs, handle manual review queues, and use Elliptic/KYT to assess blockchain risk exposure and screen wallets and transactions. - Apply crypto-native judgement: Assess risk profiles specific to stablecoin wallets, DeFi interactions, and cross-border crypto transactions, including conducting Enhanced Due Diligence where required and escalating appropriately. - Support ongoing customer monitoring: Keep customer files current, trigger periodic reviews, recalibrate risk scores, and flag changes in customer behaviour - maintaining audit-ready documentation that meets FCA and broader regulatory expectations. - Be the customer’s point of contact through onboarding: Handle inbound queries on document requirements, verification status, and decisions, and liaise directly with customers whose applications are delayed, flagged, or declined - communicating outcomes clearly and compliantly. - Collaborate cross-functionally and stay current on regulation: Work closely with Product, Operations, and Engineering to scale onboarding workflows, while keeping pace with UK and EU regulatory developments affecting stablecoins and digital assets.
Requirements
### Who you are - A KYC professional with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in customer due diligence, identity verification, or onboarding compliance, ideally within a fintech, neobank, crypto, or payments environment. Crypto experience is non-negotiable. - Hands-on with SumSub: you have used it in a production environment, not just seen a demo. - Experienced with Elliptic, KYT, or equivalent blockchain analytics tooling: you can interpret risk scores, understand what flags mean in context, and make defensible decisions based on on-chain data. - Detail-oriented and risk-minded: you think in terms of customer risk profiles, red flags, and audit trails. You do not cut corners on documentation. - A clear and concise communicator: you can write a crisp, well-reasoned decision rationale and explain regulatory concepts plainly to non-compliance colleagues. - Comfortable in a fast-moving environment: Plasma is scaling quickly. You will need to manage volume, maintain quality, and help shape the processes that support growth. ### Nice to have - Experience with stablecoin or DeFi products and an understanding of the specific compliance challenges they present. - Familiarity with FCA registration requirements and the UK crypto regulatory landscape. - Exposure to Chainalysis, TRM Labs, or other blockchain analytics platforms beyond Elliptic. - Experience designing or improving KYC workflows with an eye towards automation and scalability. - Understanding of sanctions frameworks and exposure to high-risk jurisdiction analysis. - Prior involvement in regulatory exam preparation or audit support.
Conditions
### What’s in it for you - Above market salary plus token compensation. - Premium health insurance for you and your family, fully covered by Plasma. - Monthly wellness budget, whether for the gym, therapy, sauna, or massage. - All the tools and tech you need to operate at your best. - Ownership. We look after you.
