Security Design Engineer - Galaxy

### Key Responsibilities #### System Design & Engineering - Design integrated security systems including access control, video surveillance (CCTV/IP), intrusion detection/alarm systems, and converged security platforms for commercial projects - Develop complete design packages including system drawings, single-line diagrams, floor plan layouts, riser diagrams, equipment schedules, and written specifications - Perform site surveys and security risk assessments to inform system design recommendations - Select appropriate hardware, software, and infrastructure components based on project requirements, budget, and performance criteria - Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, IT teams, and general contractors to ensure seamless integration into the broader building systems environment #### Project Support & Client Engagement - Participate in client discovery meetings to understand security requirements, operational workflows, and budget constraints - Prepare and present design concepts and technical proposals to clients and stakeholders - Provide technical clarification and respond to RFIs during the construction and installation phases - Review submittals, shop drawings, and as-built documentation for conformance with design intent #### Standards & Compliance - Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations (IBC, NFPA, UL, NEC, ASIS guidelines, etc.) - Stay current with evolving threats, technology platforms, and industry best practices - Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal design standards, templates, and preferred system configurations #### Work Environment - Hybrid or office-based with regular travel to client sites for surveys and project meetings - Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment - Occasional after-hours availability for critical project milestones or client needs
