## About the Role As a Senior Backend Engineer at Breakout, you’ll design and implement the core services that power our trading platform, with a special focus on metrics, data pipelines, and performance monitoring. You’ll architect solutions that ensure real-time visibility into trading activity, risk exposure, and financial performance, while also driving scalability and reliability across the stack. You’ll collaborate closely with our CTO, engineering, operations, and data teams to ensure our systems deliver the speed, accuracy, and transparency needed in a live trading environment. ## The opportunity - Designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, low-latency, and scalable back-end services and RESTful APIs using C# and [ASP.NET](http://ASP.NET) Core - Architecting solutions for real-time financial data processing, trade surveillance, and portfolio analysis - Building pipelines and data models to power metrics dashboards, risk reporting, and performance analytics - Managing and optimizing complex queries and schemas in PostgreSQL - Integrating APIs with third-party systems to ensure data integrity and reliability - Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks to meet demanding uptime and latency requirements - Implementing security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption

## Skills you should HODL - You have 7+ years of backend engineering experience (at least 3+ years in financial, metrics-driven, or high-performance systems) - You are highly skilled with C#, [ASP.NET](http://ASP.NET) Core, and PostgreSQL - You’re comfortable deploying and scaling applications in AWS - You’ve worked on API platforms, real-time data pipelines, or metrics systems - You understand or are curious about trading systems and cryptocurrency markets - You thrive on solving complex problems and building robust, scalable software
