Job description
RocketBrush Studio is looking for a Technical Environment Artist to work remotely on exciting game development projects.
Responsibilities
- Export assets to Unity, check their correctness, and assemble the scene in the engine;
- Work with a ready set of assets and rough blocking of the starting location;
- Set up terrain, textures, grass, trees;
- Optimize the scene for high-concurrency scenarios: thousands of players simultaneously on one map, with a special focus on optimizing vegetation;
- Create and configure LODs;
- Work with draw calls, FPS, scene performance, and rendering stability;
- Search for and fix visual and technical bugs in the scene;
- Write shaders, editor tools, and runtime optimization scripts as needed;
Requirements
- Confident working with Unity;
- Understanding of URP / HDRP pipeline for PC;
- Experience assembling, setting up, and optimizing scenes in Unity;
- Strong experience with terrain, textures, and vegetation;
- Understanding of GPU pipeline;
- Ability to analyze and optimize draw calls, FPS, LODs, and overall scene performance;
- Programming skills for technical tasks: shaders, editor tools, runtime optimization scripts;
- Ability to work with ready assets and bring the scene from rough state to a technically stable result;
- Attention to visual quality of the scene and technical limitations of the project;
- Experience of at least two years;
- Portfolio with relevant works in Unity: environment, terrain, vegetation, scene optimization or technical art tasks;
- Willingness to accept feedback and work on improving skills;
- Willingness to dedicate at least 40 hours a week to work;
- Stable internet connection.
