VP of Engineering

Your mission is to lead the world-class engineering organization (~50 people) that enables Help Scout to deliver innovative products and delight customers. You will helm our technical vision, develop our Engineering leaders, and define and execute an AI strategy that allows us to achieve ambitious product and business goals.

### Technical strategy: - Deliver a product that’s performant, secure, and reliable for customers. - Define and execute an AI strategy that allows us to achieve an ambitious product vision centered around intelligence. - Focus on code modernization efforts to ensure the team can deliver product improvements at a high velocity. ### Organizational Leadership: - Attract, hire, and empower the most talented engineers. - Maintain and raise standards of excellence and craft across the organization. - Quantify the impact of engineering standards on the business. ### Cross-Functional Leadership: - Communicate the Engineering strategy with teammates inside and outside of the organization. - Bring technical expertise to crucial business conversations at the executive level. - Help engineering teams advocate for their work across the business. ### Engineering Investments: - Own the Engineering P&L and manage costs in partnership with the strategic finance team. - Communicate clearly about where investments are made and why. ### Roadmap execution: - Collaborate with Product and Design in a shared ownership model. - Deliver great products that drive business results and continuously innovate.
